We chose the TRIP ADVISOR web site to illustrate the concept of Best rate Guarantee (BRG).
This site is an agregate of three 3rd party web site:
The SNCF web site have no BRG program.
EXPEDIA:
When you do a reservation through their web site, and if within the next 24hours you find a room to a lower price with the same conditions, dates, prepaid ... you do the reservation and the 3rd party website will take and replace your reservation and give you a travel coupon worth $50.

Hilton launches online room selection by floorplan
Regarding to this text, the hotels Hilton have found a new way of doing reservations online.
The fact to book a room selecting from the floorplan is a concept borrowed from the airlines.
But it's pretty new in this sector (hotels) and we can say that for the moment, Hilton Hotels is on a niche.
Of course at the moment it's just planned for special guests who already have a loyalty card (Hilton Diamond and Gold HHonors) at the beginning 2007 and then it will be apply to all hotels and guests !!!
This is a great answer to a real need expressed by guests to choose their rooms.

Brand names resonate when it comes to online bookings

As showed in the text, the consummers are more and more using the web as travel planner...
And of course the plus points it brings to the customers are almost the same as they are for hoteliers.
As i can see in my own professional experience the hotels are very interested in using the web to sell their room nights because of the same reasons...
This will probably be in 10 years, the only way to plan a trip !!!

An early look at the Hotel of Tomorrow
The article that I choose, talks about the Hotels Of Tommorow (HOT) and explains the different amenities how hoteliers could have to do in order to satisfy custumers needs with high-tech amenities, new softwares (for example computer to do check in and outdirectly by choosing the room, paying ...)
As we can see on this picture, the hotel room of the future could look like that. But it can be dangerous for the hotel industry to be enroled in the spirale of getting always more and more high tech amenities because for most people the essence of hotel industry is the human contact !!!
